BIOGRAPHY

Rodney Munday began sculpting professionally in the early 1990’s. He exhibited annually at the Chelsea Flower Show and other Royal Horticultural Society Shows from 1996 – 2004. Since then, he has exhibited widely in this country and in France.

In 2019 he was awarded the Grand Prix du Salon at the Salon International de Pont de Cheruy; in 2017 he gained the Grand de Sculpture at Art-inter's Grand Prix International des Créateurs du Siecle, at the Palais Bondy in Lyon, and was the guest of honour at the Salon International des Arts, at Zillisheim in Alsace.

He has also won the Gold Medal for Sculpture and other awards over a number of years at the Salon D'Art du Colombier in the Yvelines just south of Paris. In 2004 and again in 2005 his work was selected for the Chichester Festivities. In 2005 he won the gold medal for sculpture at the 11th Salon D’Art Colombier at St. Arnoult-en-Yveslines near Paris.

He has held solo exhibitions at Gallery 27 in Cork Street, London and at the Oxmarket Gallery in Chichester. In 2007 he was invited to exhibit at Galerie Art Present in the Paris Beaubourg during April and May.

In 2003 he was commissioned to produce a statue of ‘Europa and the Bull’ for Wyeth Europa, the multi-national pharmaceutical company. In 2005 he was shortlisted to produce a wall and doors for the Grand Opera House in Belfast. In 2007 his statue of St. Edmund of Abingdon was unveiled at St. Edmund Hall, Oxford by the Chancellor of the University, Lord Patten.
