Tucked away in an unlikely corner of North Norfolk just two miles from Blakeney and a five minute drive from Holt is a newly converted barn housing examples of the very best of contemporary British art. The collection of paintings is far reaching from the beautiful transparent watercolours of Jacqueline Rizvi to the powerful oils of Peter Graham, the quiet still life studies of Val Smith and the frivolous quirky studies by Susan Bower to name but four of the 30 or so artists and sculptors who are showing their work in this brand new venue.
The aim of this new gallery is to show work of listed, established artists from all over the country, all of whom are members of at least one of the major institutions in Great Britain including the Royal Academy, Royal Society of British Artists and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters to name but three.
The fine bronzes by the sculptor Janet MacLeod and larger pieces for the garden by Rodney Munday including ‘Giant Clam’ and ‘Daphne’, enhance the exhibition and form a collection of artwork and sculpture never before seen under one ‘Norfolk barn’ roof.
The ever changing ‘rolling’ exhibition will be punctuated throughout the year with one-man shows from a cross-section of invited artists, show-casing both traditional and modern work from some of the finest of British painters.
